I have watched friends spot a Tab online, pay for it and get
excited over the tab when it arrived, only to hate this same tab a few weeks
down the line. I am simply tired of friends coming to me to ask me what can be
done to a tab they have already purchased. The answer the multiple questions
that ask me often, I chose to write this article. I will compare two very common
tabs and by so doing expose what you must watch out for when trying to purchase
a tab.
There are quite a number of tablet being sold in the market
today. It would be totally difficult to pick which one to go forward due to
certain factors such as features and the price. Companies like Apple, Samsung,
LG, and many more have released their very own versions of tablets but not all
are worth calling a tab. I will be looking at two brands and two specific models
and what they present and represent. These tablets are similar and different in
some of their features. They are Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and Amazon Kindle
Fire HDX 7. A closer look at them will reveal some distinct features and some
similar features.
SIZE: Samsung Tab
3 has an 8-inch screen display. It has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and a
ppi density of 189. As for Kindle HDX it sports a screen display of about
7-inch and a resolution of 1920×1200 with a pixel density of 323. For those
looking to have a much bigger screen to use it would be much better to go for
Samsung Tab 3.
STORAGE: Without
any hesitation, I would say Kindle Fire is being defeated by Galaxy Tab. I will
tell you why. For one reason, Samsung has a slot for MicroSD both for a SIM
Card and external memory. This is what Kindle Fire does not have.
Samsung Tab offers a 16GB internal storage. However, you can
add more storage up to 64 GB. This is made possible through the use of a
MicroSD card. Samsung wins against Amazon when it comes to storage.
APPS: Here is the
thing regarding apps, Amazon has its own app store. The downside of it is that
it only offers fewer choices to users. Unlike Samsung Tab which uses Google
Play. It is common knowledge that Google Play has lots of apps ready for
download for free or for a fee. Also, the apps are always updated unlike with
those Amazon. In this bout, it is Samsung Tab that wins again.
PROCESSOR: Kindle
Fire wins in this area. It uses Qualcomm Snapdragon that is quad-core 2.2 GHz
chip. Samsung Tab uses a 1.5GHz dual-core chip.
When it comes to features and productivity wise it would be
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 that wins! It has a much larger screen, can get more
apps to access and download and lastly, it can increase storage thanks to
having an expandable memory of up to 64GB. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX is priced quite
cheap, meanwhile Samsung Tab has been repackaged by GiCENT for a very cheapprice. You can never go wrong when it comes quality and functionality of
Samsung Tab 3 8.0. Not only that apps fanatics will never get bored of picking
one app to another, play and have fun using it.
Bottom line, when picking a Tab please, considers it
internal memory first.
