Why Yaya Toure Won the Glo/CAF African Player of Year 2013 Instead of John Mikel Obi

Cote D'ivore/Manchester City player Yaya Toure has been named Glo/CAF African Player of Year 2013, beating Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi & Didier Drogba of Cote D'ivore. Congrats to him.

I guess, it was given to Mikel because his coach, Stephen Keshi, won African Coach of the Year. Two Nigerian can't just be listed, or what do you think guys?
