Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, was yesterday thrown into mourning following a lightning that struck in the evening, killing four people on the spot while two others died on their way to the hospital.
The incident which occurred at 4:30 pm followed a torrential downpour at Bukan Sidi mechanic village in Lafia. It was gathered that the casualty figure was due to the fact that some mechanics and other victims were crowded in the place, used by a tea shop owner.
Several other people who sustained varying degrees of injury were rushed to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia.
