If you would recall a member of the National Youths Service Corps, Miss Folakemi Akinbode, 26, was attacked in August while returning to the Corpers Lodge near the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobori, in Bayelsa State. She is still in ICU.
The Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government (SSG), Prof. Edmond Allison-Oguru, said during a visit to the hospitalized Ajinbode at the Intensive Care Unit of the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital that arrangement for the foreign medical treatment has been concluded for next week.
Allison-Oguru, who is also chairman of the Governing Board of the NYSC in Bayelsa, said the attack was regrettable and has been condemned by the state government, which would continue to support the injured lady “to avoid any form of deformity and guarantee complete healing.”
