Our Honour, Our Mother, Mrs. Odumakin prestigious award. All Nigerian and African young women and mothers should be proud. We should all feel honoured that the light shine in Africa even in these dark days. Congratulation to Mrs. Joe Odumakin.
It is the Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award annually recognizes women around the globe who have shown exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for women’s rights and empowerment, often at great personal risk.
Since the inception in 2007, 67 women from 45 different countries have been honoured. Our own Mrs. Joe Odumakin is among 2013 awardees. Mrs. Odumakin is the president, Campaign for Democracy; Malalai Bahaduri, First Sergeant, Afghan National Interdiction Unit (Afghanistan); Samira Ibrahim, Coordinator, Know Your Rights (Egypt); Julieta Castellanos, Rector, National Autonomous University of Honduras (Honduras); and Elena Milashina, journalist, human rights activist (Russia).
Let's honour this woman, she is a true heroine, yet to be link to the bag of floating corruption hanging over many supposed great leaders in Africa.
