I hope this is great news to the State, who presently seemed to be the most active state for slave prostitution and first grade cruelty to women.
Yesterday, the Edo State government join the UN and the rest of the world to make a move against sexual abuse which has dominate the Africa culture for too long. "Nothing will stem the raging tide of rape and defilement of the girl-child except very stiff punishment for offenders," was the official allegiance of the State to battle the menace. Edo State government further noted that she was poised to re-position the Ministry of Justice for effective service delivery.
All our hope is that this will not be one of the cheap talk for political reasons. But whatever it maybe, the onus remain on us to stress that the violence against women must stop. Sincerely speaking, the way African women are quiet about this new development, one will almost believe they are and have been enjoying violence against women and would want it to remain.If they are not why are they not saying anything? Even you reading this, why are you not saying something?
