Facebook co-founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, ranked 25th on the list of 71 most powerful men of the world, which was just released by Forbes Magazine.
The young billionaire, who launched Facebook in February 2004, did better than most Arab heads of State, at the exception of the Saudi King, Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, who ranked 7th on the list and was the only Arab leader to make it to top ten list, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who ranked 33rd.
The founder of the world’s biggest social media site is the youngest of the list.
The list of the world’s most powerful figures includes statesmen, philanthropists and CEO’s of the world’s largest companies.
According to the final ranking, which was decided by ten senior Forbes editors, American President, Barack Obama, tops the list for the second time. He is followed by German chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin, world’s second richest man, Bill Gates, Pope Benedict VVI, U.S Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping, and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
The Mexican Carlos Selilm Helu, considered the world’s richest man came 11th on the list.
Among the world’s most influential political figures, French President, François Hollande, ranked 14th, New York’s Mayor ranked 16th, United Nations’ Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, ranked 3oth.
